Gavin Louis Escobar

Gavin Louis Escobar, loving husband and father, passed away on September 28th, 2022 at 31 years old. Gavin was born on February 3, 1991 in Manhattan, NY to Harry and Erin Escobar. He graduated from Santa Margarita Catholic High School, and from San Diego State University. Gavin was a firefighter at Long Beach Fire Department assigned to Fire Station 3. Prior to joining LBFD Gavin played 5 years in the NFL. After being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2013 Gavin spent 4 years with the organization before spending time on the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins. On February 25, 2017 he married the love of his life, Sarah Halverson Escobar in Huntington Beach, CA. Together they raised two beautiful daughters Josey and Charlotte. Some of Gavin’s many passions included: surfing, skating, building, reading, board games, playing piano, painting, working out, and learning new things. Gavin loved being outdoors spending time with his family camping and hiking. He loved being a husband and father more than anything in the world and continuously was working on home improvement projects for his wife and daughters. Gavin is survived by his wife, Sarah, his two children Josey and Charlotte; his mother, Erin Escobar; and his siblings Morgan Escobar and Declan Escobar. Information for services will come soon.
